Premiering on October 23, this True Royalty original features the first-ever on-camera interview with the King’s former mistress Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, who accuses the Spanish Royal Family of being responsible for a pre-planned smear campaign amounting to “intrusion, surveillance, harassment and abusive behaviour”.

The British Royal Family is one of the world’s oldest monarchies, steeped in hundreds of years of closely-guarded tradition, bloodlines and – during some periods – bloodshed.
But the British monarchy is distinctly unusual in having thrived during the 20th and 21st centuries – when so many others have fallen by the wayside – to become one of the most respected and celebrated families in the world. The British Royals quite literally and deliberately reinvented themselves to remain relevant.

Finding the right wedding dress is always important, but it is absolutely essential if you are having a Royal wedding.
The dress a Royal bride wears on her wedding day is going to be seen by millions of people all around the world – immortalised in the daily papers and gossip magazines – and if she is not already a member of the British Royal Family, the dress will quite literally transform her into a princess.
For Royal brides, the wedding dress is a statement of what kind of Royal she wants to be and where she sees herself going in the future. Read on to discover the stories behind the most iconic wedding dresses in living memory.
Elizabeth II’s 1947 Wedding Dress
Elizabeth II was just 21 years old when she married Prince Philip in November 1947. As clothing was still rationed in Britain since the end of the Second World War two years earlier, the future monarch’s wedding dress material was also bought with rations (and an extra £200 from the government). Some members of the British public actually tried to send the young bride their own allowance for her wedding dress, which she then had to send back as it was illegal to take other people’s rations. She wore an ivory silk dress decorated with sea pearls and embroidered flowers which was elegant without appearing excessive.
Lady Diana Spencer’s ‘Quintessential Princess’ Dress
When a 20-year-old Lady Diana Spencer got married in July 1981, she wore an ivory taffeta gown with a 25-foot train. It was everything that springs to mind when you think ‘princess dress’, from the huge puffy sleeves to the gigantic skirt which didn’t quite fit into the car. Diana’s dress looked like it had escaped from a fairy tale, but unfortunately it got creased on the way to the church.
Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress: Fit For a Future Queen
Kate Middleton’s wedding in April 2011 was the happy ending to a real-life fairy tale. She was a regular girl who met a Prince and, in marrying him, ensured she would one day become Queen Consort to the future King of England. Her wedding dress showcased beautiful attention to detail, from the elegant lace to her signature sweetheart neckline, and it was a great example of a fairy tale for the modern world.
Meghan Markle’s Chic and Simple Wedding Dress
Meghan Markle was 36 years old when she married Prince Harry in May 2018. As a mature woman who has enjoyed a successful career and was previously married, Meghan wanted a simple, chic and elegant wedding dress which reflected her Hollywood past as well as her Royal future. Meghan’s dress did not have puffed sleeves or huge skirts, but did you know her veil was hand embroidered with flowers representing the 53 nations of the commonwealth?
